Membership

TAAP Membership conditions

  1. To register as a TAAP member you must hold a valid proof of identification (ID, Passport, Drivers license). -

  2. You must not be registered with another IPF federation. 

  3. You must agree to all of the anti-doping conditions and consent to the anti-doping requirements. 

  4. You must not be banned from the IPF or have competed with non-IPF affiliated federations within the past two years. 

  5. We reserve rights to reject all membership applications for those who don’t fulfil our criteria.

TAAP Championships qualifying procedure

  1. TAAP Championships are open to all members of the Federation, provided they have achieved the qualifying total and are not subject to suspension either by TAAP or the IPF.

  2. Qualifying totals are set yearly based on championship performances and must be achieved at a competition recognized by the IPF.  

  3. If a QT set in a particular category exceeds that of higher weight classes, the lifter may elect to lift in the higher class.  This must be shown on the entry form.

  4. Current TAAP Champions can defend their title without qualification however should they wish to compete at a higher weight class they must make the qualifying total for that bodyweight.

  5. Competitors cannot change their nominated bodyweight after the closing date for entries and they don't make the required weight limit for their category, they can only lift as a guest and cannot place. Additionally, entry fees shall not be refundable after the closing date for entries.

  6. All TAAP Championships will be held in accordance with IPF technical rules and rules of performance.

  7. A Championship title can only be claimed if the qualifying total is attained.

  8. Qualification must be achieved in the period from the date of the previous Championship to two weeks prior to the current Championship. 

  9. All competitors must comply with DCAT Anti-Doping procedures and will be required to complete a drug form at the weigh-in, and be available for testing should it be required of them.

  10. Competitors wishing to receive trophies, participation certificates/medals must attend the presentation ceremony.

TAAP Team Selection procedure

  1. To be selected as part of the Thai TAAP Team the athlete must hold a valid proof of residency. (Work Permit, Education Visa, Work related visa etc.)

  2. You must hold a current TAAP membership.

  3. To qualify for the TAAP team you will achieve the minimum of the tier 2 Qualify standards.

  4. TAAP team lifters may use their total from international competition to qualify for the TAAP team. 

  5. There are no requirements to compete in the TAAP Championship, however in the case that an athlete equals or exceeds the total of the current national team member at these championships the slot will automatically be given to them. 

  6. In the case where the TAAP team member is unable to take their slot the nomination shall be passed on to the next ranked lifter. 

  7. To remain a member of the TAAP team you must volunteer to help TAAP in some capacity. (admin work, spot and load, scoring etc. )

  8. The committee reserves the right to dismiss any member of the TAAP team due to poor athlete conducts.
