BANGKOK, Jan 11th 2023 – Thai Amateur Association of Powerlifting (TAAP) is happy to announce today the approval of the federation by the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT). This marks an monumental step in putting Powerlifting in Thailand on the map. The approval means that athletes from Thailand will be able to continue to participate in the International Powerlifting Competition sanctioned by the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF). “This is only the start of a wonderful journey for Powerlifting in Thailand, the hard work starts now, it’s been a long process but it’s been worth every moment. I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank everyone involved with the whole process and most importantly, the lifters who have been very patient with us during this period. TAAP shall be governed by transparency and equivalency. It shall be a federation made to serve lifters from all walks of life” says outgoing interim president Mr. That Thammathataree. Currently, the board is working on securing location contracts for the upcoming national championships and will announce major changes in due course.
